Michelle Obama said that she wanted to congratulate all the students, teachers, and staff at Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in Angel for their “incredible achievement”. She added: “My time with the girls at EGA was a transformative experience for me as First Lady, and I think about it often. It means the world to know just how much the students are thriving.” The Harvard-educated lawyer first visited the school in 2009 when she spoke about the power of sisterhood. At the time, she told pupils: “I am an example of what is possible when girls from the very beginning of their lives are loved and nurtured by people around them. “I was surrounded by extraordinary women in my life who taught me about quiet strength and dignity”.
Posted on: 13/02/2025Maths FeastYesterday, 7 year 10s and I participated in the Maths Feast challenge alongside many other schools. It was a strenuous task to test one's mental capability and quick maths. Despite the many difficulties, my team and I persevered with the challenges and managed the completion of all the problems that were given to us. My team won 5th place and the other team representing EGA won 3rd place among 17 other schools. I am very pleased with the turn out of yesterday's events.- Almire year 10

Organised by the Prom Committee to raise funds for the upcoming Year 11 Prom on Friday 4th July, the event drew a crowd of over 150 students. A bake sale also helped to boost the fundraising which took the total to an impressive £300. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported the event, and especially to the staff who gave up their Friday afternoon to make it happen.
