Year 9 Art work on Public display

Year 9 artwork on public display

During the summer term, Y9 EGA students took part in a workshop learning about anti-apartheid activism in the local area. Working collaboratively, students researched the impact 6 individuals had on the anti-apartheid movement and shaping the culture and identity of our present day community. The 6 portraits produced by Maram, Lorin, Elodie, Flo, Sophia and Asma are now on display outside the site of the new Anti-Apartheid legacy museum on Penton St. To have their artwork on display within the community is fantastic for our students and reflects the values of the EGA art department: giving our students the opportunity to create artwork that critically investigates the world around them, producing personal, meaningful and impactful artworks.
